journey continued

two hometown moments... walking through the old city centre this week, with the sky still in summer mode, i felt like still being on a journey. i guess it's one of the after-effects of travelling: this slightly different look of the familiar / at the familiar.

or like someone once put it: good journeys don't end with coming home.

christmas market (+more flags)

some impressions from the historic christmas market that is currently on in my hometown. the wooden structure in the second photo is a ferrywheel. and the pink building in the third photo is the old town hall with belltower that includes moving figures.

flags seems to turn into a new photo theme of this blog - there was the surprise flag moment in Lanzarote, and now these historic flags. and of course, the start of it: the prayer flags in qarrtsiluni, still one of my favourite images.

which reminds me that i still need to send this larger version of a "translation" photo to qarrtsiluni. (guidelines - new deadline for this issue is Dec31). (& deadlines: this week's flash challenge is "Silence", due December 19). but first, it will be some more trial-and-error, and the launch of the next pages of the identity issue. (and the laundry. (which shares the letters 'laun' with launch.)(end of bracket/talk)

today, after all the roads and places, a rather physical home day:
painting the kitchen.

weekend drive / homeview

great sky yesterday evening. which lead to a counterparting photo moment: the photo above is taken from the window here. the yellow arrow marks the spot where i took the weekend drive photo "home, seen from slightly afar" on saturday.

and to have both next to each other, here a copy & paste. interesting how the place looks not really high from here, but from up there, you have a vast view.

weekend drive

yesterday i went on another drive to the mountain plateau not far from here, and went for a short walk there. so glad i had my camera with me. a different, larger photo of the view is up here: home, seen from (slightly) afar.

time travel

hometown time travelling: those old walls and gates are a couple of centuries old. i walked past and through them as a child a hundred times. walking around there now feels a bit like time travel.
