gates, later

"there is this road, not far from here, framed by trees. now they all turned yellow. kind of like the natural autumn version of Christo's gates, i thought, while driving through them."

that's what i noted down in October, in this blog, underneath the road photo. i thought of this photo this weekend, when i drove along that road again - it's the road where the accident of my friend's friend happened last week.

the funeral is today. i will go, to be with my friend, and also, to be with the questions and fears and realizations death carries. the accident shook up everyone who heard about it, probably because it's so close. it could have happened to everyone, down there, on this winding road that turns into the main road when the houses begin.
