focus, slightly blurred

this week: launching the new issue of blueprintreview: "two²".
this week: taking part in the 52/250 again, with a Space Camp story (see below)
this week: taking part in the Folded Word basecamp: daily writing. and so i write. daily.
this week: keeping Daily s-Press spinning with new 4 books + #fridayflash (see below)
this week: preparing the next author talk :)
this week: creating the first handmade blueprintpress micro novels
this week: experimenting with a micro collection

then this morning, somehow fitting with the whole week, my horoscope, both encouraging and cautioning:

a matter of self-control
Valid during many months: This can be an excellent time, but you must watch out for some pitfalls that could undo all the benefits. Basically this influence is a test of your discipline and self-restraint. You might react to this influence by overextending yourself, and squander a valuable resource, only to find on another day that you do not have enough of what you need.

But this time can also provide a chance for real growth and expanded opportunities. It is a matter of how much control you have over yourself. You have to know precisely where you are and what your real needs are in order to take the most advantage of this time. You also have to know when you can't handle anything more. Knowing when to stop is the real trick.

it made me think of my multiple projects, of course, the daily writing, blueprintreview, daily s-press, the micro novels... am i overextending myself, and running out of focus and direction? yes and no, i guess. for August, this intense writing and reading and “communing" feels like a good thing, a stretch of possiblites, and there is so much good energy coming from it – but also it’s taking energy. and it’s not a pace to run on continually, as the daily challenges tend to take over the priority over long-term projects. but right now, i enjoy the daily drive through the land of words, and all the surprise encounters and stories coming from it.
