52/250 twentysix

it's a time of reflection and looking at the year - the editors of 52/250 have put together the pages of their second Best-Of-quarterly, which is up at: twentysix (and covers 13 weeks, just like the first quarterly, thus the title).

the quarterly starts with a step behind the scenes: 11 of the frequent flashers talk about writing flash: Eleven writers reveal more. below, some quotes:

on writing flash
"I force memories to surface, erase their contexts, cut threads of
continuity. I leave only footprints." - Guy Lasko

"Whenever I begin to write, be it prose or poetry, I start from the first image that pops in my head. I am a disorganized writer, which I believe is the way to go." - Susan Tepper

"The hope, of course, always is that a complete story might bubble up, and just needs to be written down. So far this never happened. But usually, a first idea takes shape at some point, often not at the desk, but while outside." - ...me

some story links
there also are some of my stories included in twentysix:
- Dimension #4 (week 15, "Sleep", 1st story)
- at the meridian of time (week 16, "Busy at work", 2nd story)
- Imprints  (week 21, "Unseen", last story)

looking at my writing this year, i am so glad that i joined 52/250. so many stories are coming from there, in a great diversity of voices and approaches that again sparks the own ink.
