Trees & Otoliths & on difference

the new edition of the Festival of Trees blog carnival is online! – that’s the carnival that sparked the idea to start a language/place carnival.
i have a story+image in it, Nightwood, click it, or just scroll to the blog post below this one to read it. and great to be in such fine company: Susan Gibbs and Stella Pierides have tree stories included in this edition, too.

the tree carnival starts with some reflections on different takes on trees and the nature of blog carnivals: "Everyone does trees differently, and each month when I browse through the Festival of the Trees I get to see trees as other people see them. That must be a good thing." - Ashley Peace

following the note of difference - i came across a web project last week that intends to make the value of difference more visible. it includes "different" book reviews - a feature is now on in the blueprint blog: "Elevate Difference".

and more difference: also new: Otoliths, with the southern summer issue. Karyn Eisler and i worked on visual poems that are based  on different moods. here's the direct link: Four Visual Poems.
and again, great company: collab work by Jeff Crouch + Satu Kaikkonen: Three Visual Poems , Bobbi Lurie with Two Poems, sean burn with visual poems, Felino Soriano with Approbations, and so many, many more.

now, coffee.
