ways & if only we suspected we knew how
today i am grateful for the time here. for the sun. for the luck to have come across the book "Bel Canto" by Ann Patchett. it's probably one of the best books i read. ever. and i almost unpacked it again. it's a book that can't be easily put in words. a book that reaches to the cores of the human condition, in surprise turns. i don't know how many lines i marked, but none really captures it. just like life really can't be captured in a line, or an image.
here is one of the quotes:
"It makes you wonder. All the brilliant things we might have done with our lives if only we suspected we knew how."
it made me think of the image from the last post: life as a journey. and us, trying to find our way without map. trying to take the right turns. sometimes forgetting about how vast the map is, and that it's up to us to choose the direction. that our own life is a carpet we weave, day by day.
(inspired by photo friday's theme "Manufactured". the photo is from the Spanish mountain monastery Lluc, the one i visited some days ago).
