soon now. tomorrow this time, it will be boarding time for Lanzarote. which makes today, this time, question time: which books to take for the next 2 weeks? i tried to answer that question 2 weeks ago already, ordered books for the island time, but really, this is a zen riddle: which books will be the right one for the unknown yet days to come? Same with clothes... ;)
so i am folding and unfolding, and (thanks to the weitghlessness of e-books) downloaded some extra books yesterday on the kindle, some classics to read into. books i wouldn’t take along as full print book, but that i look forward to visit: Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe, Mark Twain’s Tramp Abroad, and The Odyssey by Homer. Also, for the christmas season A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. (it was the Batman-"Noel" version of it that made me curious for it).
the first photo of the collage above is from Lanzarote - that's a mile from it's northern tip. beyond those mountains, there is only: water.

Dorothee - do you know Wilhelmina Barns-Graham's drawings of Lanzarote?
