festival of trees #53

the new edition of the tree blog carnival is up!
link: Festival of the Trees: Edition 53

i visited it after arriving home from a drive through the autumn forest of the closeby Swabian Alps, that's where the photo is from.

it was a similar day in a previous October that let me put a moving tree moment together - the moment now is included in the new festival, here's the direct link: falling. i had almost forgotten about it. so good, to return to this little swirl.

(here's a bit more about the Swabian Alps (wiki), and an december view from another sunday trip here. plus: a red tree moment in Karyn's Living ?s blog, almost like a red twin of the image above: Arboreal Halloween).

yesterday i stopped raking leaves to watch one leaf fall from my neighbor's silver maple. fixed on that one point, that one motion, i could feel which way earth spins.

this tree festival is responsible for some of that i think.

Thanks for linking the festival, Dorothee -- and for participating!
