Lanzarote is a vulcanoe island. so today was very much about vulcanoes: a drive to a lava beach, and then onwards through the Timanfaya National Park, which is all about the "montanas fuego": the fire mountains. whĂch also inspired the name for the main road in the town beyond Timanfaya: Avenida de los Volcanes.
and a deja-vue moment: the cactus in the second photo - i just had to stop there and take a photo of the larger view. a closeup is online in the BluePrintReview (dis)comfort zone issue: Agave.
