to morrow, to the lighthouse, to Munich

to Munich
tomorrow to come: Munich!

the comic festival is on, and i will be there for a day and a half, and plan to try some blogging-per-mobile from there, mostly snapshots. looking forward, despite the rather rainy forecast.

today i thought: Munich, it probably will feel like the counterpart to Mallorca: island / city, time / short trip, nature / comics, the bay / the fair...

to the lighthouse
and to come next week: a new literary online course at Coursera: "What is the nature of our relationship to others and the world? How can literature help us see these relationships more clearly?"... here's more, including a reading list: The Fiction of Relationships.

one of the books is Virginia Woolf’s "To the Lighthouse", which i downloaded yesterday, and now started to read. and then realized: that would have been the perfect island read, here are two quotes:.

“She felt... how life, from being made up of little separate incidents which one lived one by one, became curled and whole like a wave which bore one up with it and threw one down with it, there, with a dash on the beach. ”

“For now she need not think of anybody. She coud be herself, by herself. And that was what now she often felt the need of - to think; well not even to think. To be silent; to be alone. All the being and the doing, expansive, glittering, vocal, evaporated; and one shrunk, with a sense of solemnity, to being oneself, a wedge-shaped core of darkness, something invisible to others... and this self having shed its attachments was free for the strangest adventures.”

and now, back to packing bags...
