under dark skies

today: thinking about the people who live under dark skies today. those troubling images of the mega-Typhoon that moves across the Philippines. the way it only takes one wrong day to devastate a whole region, and one wrong step to get injured.

also today, just as every friday: sky friday. it's a grey, rainy day here. so today's sky photo is a memory from Lanzarote: sunrise after a storm

What a beautiful scene you captured. That must have been a special moment that is now a special memory - thank you for sharing it. (Also hoping for the best for the Philippines - the power of some of these super-storms is profoundly humbling).

Who would have guessed that such a beautiful sky was actually the harbinger of destructive forces of Nature?

200 mph winds your sky looks a long way from that

A beautiful photo, it makes me want to go to Lanzarote and feel the sand between my toes!
I appreciate your thoughtful words about the devastation in the Philippines. A blessing that so few people were killed.
