Mallorca: new ways, old ways

"To find new things, take the path you took yesterday"... - John Burroughs

I've been to Mallorca before, but every stay here is Different. Not sure what makes the larger difference, though: whether it''so the journey and the places that are different, or whether it's me who is entering the days on a different note.

This year, I took some time to plan ahead, and to look for hikes. This probably is inspired by several memoirs I read in the last months that were about walking mountain trails, or following pilgrim routes like the Camino.

Today, a suggested walk for Mallorca brought me to a place i haven't ever been before, following a small road which moved up in serpentines, offering wider and wider views. Up there, a parking area waited, and so i parked, and went for a walk with a view across half of the island.

Later, on the way back, I took an extra turn and went to Puerto Pollenca for an afternoon coffee and chocolate cake at the seaside. Which are on offer for an unbelievable 4 Euros right now, gorgeous view included. Funny that i haven't found this place before. It always has been there, just a 10 minute drive from where we are staying.

And now the wifi has hiccups, so i end this post here.

More to come.
